:) I went down yesterday to the North Texas Food Bank and sorted and packed boxes for relief. I had called to make an appointment to volunteer. Others just showed up. Ended up they were overwhelmed with volunteers and we had to leave early. Only got to work an hour rather than three. :(

I'd like to volunteer somewhere, do something. I think others do too and unfortunately, organizations become completely overwhelmed with volunteers. I haven't heard about any organized volunteering round here like IL is talking about.

We have a whole room full of clothes and stuff that we're giving to the British Red Cross, who will give it to the American Red Cross. this week we're loading it up and sending it out!

Youre best bet is to probably check with churches or your local red cross. If they dont need volunteers, see what they need and havent gotten much of yet. I had a ton of baby clothes which they hadnt recieved much of yet and boxed them up and shipped em out. They also cant seem to get enough of the bottled water. Even with all the companies volunteering it, its not all getting where it needs to be.
