Bucket Full of Thoughts

The other day I was listening to a Phish CD (the only one I have) and got to thinking that they would be a band I would go see, if they were still around. But, unfortunately, as a band, they are no longer together and touring. So, I thought what other bands did I miss in my life because I either a.) wasn't into them, or b.) they were around before I was old enough (and my parents weren't crazy enough to take me to the show.) Here's my unofficial list in no particular order of bands I'd like to see if they weren't defunct or dead. Hey, if you've seen any of these bands, maybe I can live vicariously through you! Tell me the story!

  • Phish
  • The Grateful Dead (had the chance, wasn't into them then)
  • The Smith's (had two chances and blew both of them, DUH!)
  • The Doors (who didn't see that one coming?)
  • The Beatles
  • Queen
  • All the bands at Woodstock I

I'm not a big concert-goer. :( Course, I would have loved to have seen Queen & The Doors. Those would be shows I wouldn't have wanted to miss!

The Ben & Jerry's stuff??? YUMMY!

IL, I think it's obvious we're Sag's and would be great friends if we didn't live a million miles apart!

Believe it or not, but I would have loved to see Johnny Cash in concert.

Snot, I think it would have been very cool to be at Woodstock! OMG the bands that were there are just mind blowing! That'll never happen again, no matter how hard we try.

Scott, Johnny Cash is awesome! My favorite karaoke song: Burning Ring of Fire! Hey, and if he can do a NIN song! You go Johnny!

What about Willie and Waylon!? Don't forget about them! I can truthfully say that I've been on stage with Willie Nelson...

IL REALLY? Do tell!

He did a Farm Aid show at Texas Stadium in 1992. My dad knew someone that was working on their marketing. As part of the show, they were putting together a choir to sing a couple of songs before Willie came on. I managed to get in the choir (there were no auditions). So, I sang (with about 99 other people), on stage, in front of 50,000 people, and Willie came out singing at the end of one of the songs we sang. Walked right past me, strummin' his guitar. I could've reached out and touched him.

Very cool! A Farm Aid would be a great show to see too!

My Mom LOVES Willie. I would like to have seen Waylon. And the Beatles. And the Beach Boys.

Bone, I actually got to see the Beach Boys before Carl died. I was very glad that I did. What a fun show!
