The Final Countdown

Dear Lord, thank you for not letting Bruce Springsteen be the #1 album on WXPN's countdown.

For the last couple of days this station has been playing the entire albums as rated by their listeners. Not, however, if you've been listening on the net. Apparently there is ridiculous law that an Internet station cannot play more than three songs by the same artist within a certain time period Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA). Can someone explain this?

Anyway, just about an hour ago, they finished the countdown. Here's a list of XPN's top 10 albums, Findley and I can turn off our radios for the first time in three weeks:
# 10 – THE BEATLES – Rubber Soul
# 9 – THE BEATLES – Revolver
# 8 – THE CLASH – London Calling
# 7 – U2 – The Joshua Tree
# 6 – THE BEATLES – The Beatles (White Album)
# 5 – BOB DYLAN – Blood On The Tracks
# 4 – BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN – Born To Run
# 3 – PINK FLOYD – Dark Side Of The Moon
# 2 – THE BEATLES – Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
#1- THE BEATLES - Abbey Road!!!!!!!!

you know, I don't own a single album by the Beatles. In fact, I think the U2 album is the only one of those on the list that I own, and I'm not sure I didn't sell that one at some time.

MIKE! How is that possible? I have all these albums but Dylan and Springsteen. I've always been a Beatles fan.

I have all the Beatles, Dylans and U2s. NO SPRINGER, nary a one!

I think what this says is that the average age of the XPN listener is around 35 or older. If they did this with a bunch of 20 somethings, the top 10 would be very different!

But I don't need to own the beatles albums. Everyone else (including my mom) has some of them, so I can just borrow them. As for Springsteen, I think I'll pass.

And Lass, you may be 30, but you still act 29 :D

Once at a wedding, the three other groomsmen and I had someone take a photo of us in our tuxes crossing the street, a la the Abbey Road cover.

I think I still have that somewhere.

Bone, I want to see the pic! I crossed Abbey Road once...almost got hit by a crazed Londoner!

Michael, you may be on to something there!
