Got Ketchup?

For those of you that put up with me on a daily basis are well aware of my love affair with ketchup. Actually I know there are other ketchup lovers out there like my friend Stacey. We have to check the fullness of a bottle when out to eat to ensure we will have plenty for our food. It's not just for breakfast! It's not really a condiment, it's a food group! I don't love ketchup to the point of putting it on things like mashed potatoes, or potato chips or anything like that but I do love it on eggs, tater tots (yum!), grilled cheese sandwiches, onion rings, pierogies (does everyone know what they are?) and french fries of course. Since I don't eat meat, the obvious hamburgers, hot dogs etc. are not on the list.

I must apologize for the embarassment I cause my family and friends with my obvious ketchup addiction. This is especially important when at a restaurant (or work) where a bottle of ketchup is not available and I'm forced to grab 10-20 packets of ketchup, even sometimes requiring help from my friends (hey, another Beatles song) to grab some packs too.

I have no idea what's going on. I haven't heard from him, was hoping that no news was good news.

Word of Warning
While at the table with Carnealian never look at or move your hand near the catsup bottle until she has formed a small lake on her plate and seems calm. Should you notice the level on the bottle drop below half wave wildly at the waitress for a fresh bottle!

And I thought it was my sister alone who kept Heinz in business! May the ketchup addicts unite! LOL

Okay, I'll bite....what are pierogies?

Pierogies are (originally) an eastern european concoction. They are pasta pockets filled usually with mashed potatoes and cheese, sauteed in onions and tons of butter. We can buy them in the grocery around here and I don't use as much butter to make them so, that's where the ketchup comes in to play. You need to come to Pittsburgh, I can guarantee you will find shops in town where you can buy them.

In my opinion, ketchup is merely a substance that is used to mask the taste of something else.

However, I do fully support the use of food as a carrier for something else. There are certain foods I like to eat simply as a way to get salt (and to a less extent pepper).

Never been there, I have always wanted to visit, maybe when I win the lottery...

Mass, I'll go along with that food as the carrier for what you really want. Salt, ketchup, mayo whatever!!
