Thirteen Things about Carnealian 1. So many lists, so little time! 2. Happy December 1! Where does the time go? 3. 2 more weeks of school left and only one more week of working on this infernal research paper! I'm on page nine, need 12. I will have it done tonight, or by this weekend at the latest. 4. It's party central around here. I have another birthday party to go to this weekend. My friend Vicky is turing 50! 5. The building I work in has an open atrium that goes up to the third floor. There's an enormous Christmas tree in the center and lots of garland and wreaths around the atrium. Every year, we work with Social Services and the employees here can "adopt" a child that otherwise wouldn't get presents for Christmas. The employees that participate get a wish list from the child and they go buy them what's on their list. There are about 300 wrapped packages sitting under this tree as of today. If I remember, I will try to get a picture of it. This program makes me proud to be part of this company. 6. I hate what I'm wearing today. 7. I'm also very bored with what I'm doing at work. 8. Should I take off between Christmas and New Year? 9. I have a huge French test on Monday. It's been smooth sailing all semester. Then we get to Chapitre 6 and all hell breaks lose. I have to get a good grade on this test. I have an A as of now, if I get at least a 95% as a final grade after this test I don't have to take the final. Keep your fingers crossed! 10. I start another training class on Monday.
11. 20 days till the first day of winter and the shortest day of the year. I have really been noticing the shortness of days lately. It doesn't help that the sky is gray to begin with. 12. I think I'd like to go to Jamaica for Christmas....will be checking airfare. 13. I lied, I do have some Christmas decorations up at my desk at work....and two Christmas cards already. Have a great day all! Links to other Thursday Thirteens! JustCara |

Jamaica? Cool, Mon! And yes, you should take off the week in between. Productivity is crap anyway, so why not enjoy the time off if you can take it!
PS: My 13 are ici
Duh?! Yes you should take off between Christmas & New Years. Time to recoup from all those papers and tests.
What ever happened to Thirsty Thursday?
The tree in the atrium sounds cool. I was in a hotel in Manchester a few days ago waiting for a car and they were building a huge tree. More like a civil engineering project!
My TT is at rashbre TT
mmmm, Carney in Jamaica in the bottom part of a bikini. I wanna go, I wanna go.
Trying to Catch Up: Thursday Thirteen - Places I've Lived
Jamaica sounds great!
Good luck on your paper. And your French test.
You should definitely take off between Christmas and New Year's!
No, the Caymans to see the diver with the camera! Fa la la la-la!
OK! It's unanimous, I'll take off over Christmas! YAY!!
Mike, you have quite a vivid imagination! And that's not a bad thing!
Matt, isn't every day a "thirsty" day?
Bone, thanks! I'm sure everyone will be glad to not hear me talk about school work!
Hi Carnealian!
Before I forget, please stop by and add yourself to the TT blogroll, you can also add the code to your blog - should make things easier to surf Thirteeners! :D
I have to say, I said "WOW" outloud when I read #5. That is amazing, and I would also be very proud to work for a company like that. It makes me tear up, the generousity and goodness that Christmas brings out in people.
Yes, you should take off between Christmas & New Year. There's never anything productive going on at the office during that week anyway! ;)
Good luck on your test, I am sure you'll do well if you're holding an A right now!
