This morning I got up early and decided I just couldn't bear the gym so instead I went for a long walk down by the river. Today was a gorgeous warm day. I took my camera along so I could share the scenery with you.
This is our Champs Elysees. Really it's the State Street Bridge, and the capital building in the center. This is going into the city of Harrisburg.
One of the many bridges across the Susquehanna.
The Walnut St. bridge. It's now just a walking bridge. Very pretty at night.
Detail of the bridge above.
The road that lies before me.
This end of the river walk has lots of sculpture and gardens.
WWII Memorial...I really like the way this one turned out.
Holocaust Memorial
Piet Mondrian was here. I think people live in this place, but I really have no idea what it is.
The residence of Edward G. Rendell, the governor of PA. Or as our Lieutenant Governor called him at a public event Edward G. Robinson.
It was a luvly day!

Looks like a beautiful day in da hood. Nice pics!
beautiful pics!
Wonderful! Have not seen the Holocaust scuplture, great shot of that.
Pretty Pictures by a pretty lady.
I'll echo what everyone else has said. Very pretty.
The sculpture with the barrels looks like a piece of playground equipment gone bad. Or, something my mother would have encouraged me to play on.
Nice photos, what kind of camera are you shooting? If you shoot 35mm, what kind of SLR do you use? Just wondering.
Thanks all for the compliments!
Bone, make sure your tetnus booster is updated!!
Mman-these pics are from my Kodak digital. These were all done using the automatic setting. I haven't quite mastered the manual settings on that yet. I do seem to like my Canon 35mm (non-digital)camera. Many of those in the Flickr box on my blog were taken with the non-digital.
fodder for terrorists....shame on you. Great blueprint for placing IEDs on the main bridges and showing the city's choke points.
Uh...wow. Too much training, sorry.
I can't wait to come home, but when I do it will all be covered in dirty snow and white skies.
Unfortunately, it probably will be dirty snow and white skies when you get home. Sometimes there's a surprisingly warm day in the winter. We'll hope for a few of them.
I hope to be drunk and comforted by the body heat of a throng of surrounding women.
I can't think of a better way to spend a cold winters day...ok that sounded gay. Hey and it rhymes!
Thanks Jewish Guy...yes! Get those kids to get their cameras out! Actually, the soap opera One Life to Life used an aerial shot of Harrisburg for the opening of their program. I don't know that they do any longer, but they used to.
One Life To Live? Eh. I'm more of a General Hospital man.
(There's a sentence you don't hear everyday.)
Personally, I prefer the daytime judge shows to soap operas. I prefer to watch the truly ignorant among us shout at each other.
Judge Judy is hot. I want dominated.
Dean, you've lost it!
